School may look a little different this year, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t make the best of it!

School may look a little different this year, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t make the best of it! With all of the uncertainty surrounding back to school season, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with information. I’ll be the first to admit that making the ‘right’ decision seems downright impossible right now.

My oldest was set to start pre-k this year and I’m pretty bummed that his first school experience won’t be ideal. That said, it’s important to me to make sure that no matter the setting, that he has a positive experience.

Since we opted for virtual learning, while I’m not sure exactly what to expect, I’ve still wanted to make sure he is still excited and eager to learn. All in all, we still plan to remain hopeful and have a great year.

So today I want to share three ways that we plan to make the best of the new school year.

Routine

One way that I plan to ensure that he has a good year is by making sure that although he is doing virtual learning, that he still has a very routined schedule. Most toddlers thrive off of routine and my little one is no exception to the rule.

So once we get our official virtual schedule, I plan to make a solid routine around that schedule so that he knows what to expect each day. This way, although he will be having an entirely new experience with virtual school, he will know what he can expect throughout the day.

Which brings me to my next point…

Healthy Meals & Snacks

With routine comes designated eating times. While we have a pretty structured routine, I’m anticipating having to make a few adjustments around mealtime. That said, it’s gonna be important that I’m providing meals and snacks that give him the fuel he needs to get through his days.

Whether it’s for breakfast, a quick lunch, or for a quick snack for after school, Nature’s Bakery snacks are my secret weapon for a healthy, kid-approved snack that’s so good, my kids have no idea that it’s nutritious and healthy.

All Nature’s Bakery bars are gluten-free, plant-based, and free of nuts, dairy, soy, and GMO’s. Both of my toddlers absolutely LOVE Nature’s Bakery bars, specifically the Blueberry Fig Bar, and I love that they can enjoy a delicious snack made with real fruit and whole grains. Not to mention, I personally love snacking on Nature’s Bakery bars. It’s so convenient to be able to grab the same snack for myself and my boys.

Positive Attitudes

Last but not least one of the most important ways that we plan to make the best of 2020 is to have a positive attitude.

While we aren’t entirely sure what to expect, at the very least, we can make sure that we approach each new day with a positive attitude and outlook. Positivity is contagious and as a parent, it’s important that I teach my little ones to look on the bright side.

That doesn’t mean that we ignore the fact that this school year will look different, but with a little bit of hope and optimism, we can make it the best school year yet.

There you have it!

Three simple ways that we plan to make the best of back to school this year. While we aren’t entirely sure what we can expect, we can make the most of the school year by establishing a solid routine, providing healthy meals and snacks, and having positive attitudes.
