Welcome to the second trimester of pregnancy!

Hopefully, those weeks of nausea and fatigue are finally behind you.

If you’re not yet in your second trimester, be sure to check out my first-trimester must-haves here.

Thankfully, the second trimester is typically a lot easier than the first.

Plus, the second trimester is full of all sorts of exciting moments like finding out the gender and feeling the baby’s first kicks.

That said, I hate to break it to you, but the second trimester is not all baby kicks and unicorns.

It definitely has a couple of doozies of its own, so you definitely want to be prepared!

Check out my second-trimester must-haves below, and hopefully, they can help make your 2nd trimester a bit more comfortable.

1. Pregnancy Pillow

Second Trimester Must Haves

The second trimester is known for the many aches and pains that come with it.

With my first pregnancy, I had horrible hip pain, and quality rest was hard to come by.

During this current pregnancy, while the hip pain isn’t as bad, the leg cramps that I’ve been experiencing have been HORRIBLE.

My pregnancy pillow has been a total game-changer in regard to comfort and pain relief.

I personally own this one, but I’m strongly considering getting a full-body pillow like this one for more support.

2. Mediflow Water Pillow

Okay, so let me just say that this pillow is a complete game-changer!

The Mediflow Water Pillow has been clinically proven to improve sleep.

Yup, a literal study was done at the John Hopkins School Of Medicine proving that the Mediflow Water Pillow was one of the best pillows on the market!

You can check out the details of the study here.

It has been great for neck pain, and since it’s totally customizable, you can make it as firm or as soft as you’d like

3. Bio Freeze

Second Trimester Must Haves

In addition to the terrible leg cramps that I’ve experienced during this pregnancy, I have had the worst shoulder pain.

I tried using a heating pad but that was a little awkward and uncomfortable.

Luckily, Bio Freeze has worked wonders for my horrible shoulder pain.

A word of caution though, while Bio Freeze is a topical treatment with a very small chance of absorption, I’d advise against using it near your tummy!

4. Maternity Shirts

Second Trimester Must Haves

As your pregnancy progresses, you may notice that your bump is getting bigger by the day.

In addition to needing extra room in your jeans, you may also need a little extra space in your shirts.

Besides, you don’t want to be that mom with the bottom half of her tummy showing, because her shirt is too small.

My favorite shirts are these stretchy ones with ruffled sides. They’re super comfy, and they come in a pack of two for the win!

I also firmly believe that every mama should have at least one funny maternity shirt like this one in her arsenal!

Every expecting mama deserves to treat herself to some quality bath time every now and then to relieve her aching joints!

I’ve found that a nice warm bath with Epsom salt gives me great relief from my leg cramps for days at a time.

This brand of Epsom salt is amazing! Plus it has lavender essential oils added in to help you feel extra relaxed.

Dr. Teals also has a great line of Epsom salts with different essential oils added in.

6. Calcium/Magnesium Supplement

Prenatal vitamins aren’t the only supplements that you should be taking during pregnancy.

It’s important that you are also getting adequate amounts of calcium and magnesium before, during, and after your pregnancy.

Cal-Mag is a great supplement made specifically for pregnant women, women trying to conceive, and nursing mamas!

The extra calcium and magnesium can also provide relief for those achy joints.

7. Stretch Mark Cream

As your bun in the oven continues to grow, your skin is working overtime stretching out to accommodate your growing baby and shifting organs.

During this time, it’s super important that your skin gets some extra TLC.

Belly Butter Cream by Badger is an organic, rich cream that can provide some extra moisture to your growing tummy.

Also, If stretch marks are starting to rear their heads, Mederma makes a paraben-free stretch mark cream that works wonders!

8. Pregnancy Shapewear

While this comes with the territory, it can make any expecting mama a little self-conscious.

Quality shapewear, made specifically for pregnancy, can help smooth out a lot of those problem areas.

This Brand makes amazing shapewear for pregnant mamas!

Spanx also has some great, super comfortable shapewear for my fellow mamas-to-be!
