Having a breast milk pumping station has been a game changer as an exclusively pumping mom and here is everything you need to keep at yours.

If you’ve been a long-time reader on the blog them you know that I’ve talked a lot about my exclusively pumping journey. From exclusively pumping must-haves, ways to establish your supply, creating a freezer stash, to a creating a pumping schedule, exclusively pumping has taught me a lot.

That said, I realized that I haven’t shared about what I keep at my pumping station. After exclusively pumping with both of my boys, I learned exactly what I needed to keep nearby to ensurer that I have a smooth pumping session.

So this time around I created a breast milk pumping station so that once my baby girl was born, I’d have a designated space to keep all of my pumping supplies. Trust me, it’s nothing fancy. I simply started using my nightstand for it and eventually I bought a small table to go next to my rocking chair. This is the one I have but you can use anything that has either shelves and/or a small drawer.

So if you’re exclusively pumping, considering pumping every now and again, or even if you’re breast feeding, here is everything you’ll need to keep at your pumping station.

What I Keep At My Breast Milk Pumping Station

Double Electric Breast Pump

This goes without saying but if you’re exclusively pumping you absolutely need a double electric breast pump. I’ve been using the Custom Flow Pump by Dr. Brown’s and I’m honestly obsessed. The silicone flanges alone are an absolute must-have but this pump has so many amazing features and would be perfect for new moms. It’s also at a great price point. I’ve also used pumps by Medela and Spectra and they’re definitely highly recommended as well.

Water Bottle

A water bottle is a must-have! The more water you drink, the better your supply will be. I like to use a camelbak but lately I’ve been using this one.

Notebook

I like to keep a notebook at my pumping station to not only track my sessions but also for journaling and writing down any ideas that I have.

Storage Bottles

I’ve learned the hard way how important it is to have storage bottles at my pumping station. During my early morning session I tend to pump the most milk and storage bottles are crucial to have when I need to switch bottles mid session. My favorite bottles to use are the Dr. Brown’s Options+ Anti Colic bottles. I also like the wide neck version of these as well.

Breast Milk Storage Bags

If you’re planning on creating a freezer stash, I highly recommend having some breast milk storage bags at your pumping station. I currently use these but these also work great.

Headphones & Phone

I don’t know about you but I have to have my phones and my phone whenever I’m pumping. I usually listen to music but lately I’ve been enjoying listening to audio books on audible.

Handsfree Pumping Bra

If you’ve ever exclusively pumped, you know that a handsfree pumping bra is crucial. This is my absolute favorite pumping bra.

Coconut Oil

There are a lot of lubricants out there for breastfeeding and pumping but I’ve found that good ole fashioned coconut oil works perfectly.

Lactation Cookies

Lactation cookies have been one of my favorite snacks to have at my pumping station. They’re the perfect excuse to snack and also will help you drink up your water.

Touch Light

This may seem minor but having a small touch light in my drawer makes it easy to see everything I have inside so that I’m not fumbling around in the dark.

Silicone Breast Milk Catcher

If for some reason I’m only pumping on one side at a time, I love to have this silicone breast milk catcher to catch any milk that is expressed during my letdown. It can also double as a manual breast pump.

There you have it.

This is everything that I keep at my breast milk pumping station.

Of course there are a ton of other things that you could keep at your dedicated breast milk pumping station but I believe that these are a great start.

Did I forget any of the essentials?? If so let me know in the comments below.
