Welcome to the first installment in my Beat The Cravings Blog series! I’m so excited to share different ways that you can continue to enjoy delicious food without all the guilt!

Since this whole Quarantine started, I’ve been eating ALL OF THE THINGS.

Naturally, being home more makes it tempting to indulge in all of the goodies and snacks that we stocked up on. So needless to say, I’ve been all the sugar, all the carbs, and I may or may not have been enjoying a daily happy hour.

However, as with everything in life, there are the concequences and for me, that looks like gaining back almost all of the weight that I lost pre-quarantine. As you can imagine I was beyond disappointed with myself. I worked hard to lose weight and I’ve basically erased all of my progress. I did allow myself a moment to sulk but after that, I came to terms with two major truths about my weight as it relates to my behavior during this season:

+ We are going through a major pandemic and whether or not I’d like to admit it, it has definitely affected me mentally, emotionally, and now, physically – and that’s OKAY. We all have been coping with COVID and the current pandemic in our own unique ways.

+ I have the power to resist overindulging in unhealthy foods and it’s not too late to start over.

With the above truths in mind, I decided that my first step to getting back on track would be to remove the triggers associated with my recent weight gain. Luckily, I know better than to just toss out all of my snacks and leave myself with a bare pantry. For me, that’s a recipe for binging out on any and everything I can find.

Instead, I decided that I would replace my unhealthy snacks with delicious, yet healthier alternatives.
