Breaking Through A Weight Loss Plateau is a mini blog series that will document my journey to getting back on track with my fitness goals and was created in partnership with “ Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion. As always, all opinions are my own.

If you’ve been following along with the blog for a while now, then you know that I’ve been on a weight loss journey for a little over 8 months now and while I did lose a significant amount of weight, 25lb to be exact, lately I haven’t seen much progress on the scale.

At this point I’ve tried a little bit of everything to no avail and to be honest, I was starting to think that this was just as far as my weight loss journey would go. Then I got the opportunity to receive an advanced copy of “Always Eat After 7 PM” by Joel Marion.

Bestselling author, Joel Marion, is a fitness expert and nutritionist debunking the myths underlying traditional dieting and offers a simple, highly effective weight loss program. According to Joel, “Always Eat After 7 PM is a three-phase program that teaches you how to lose big by strategically eating big when you are naturally hungriest—in the evening. This may sound too good to be true, but let me assure you it is no gimmick. It’s all about making strategic and smart food swaps, and you can still eat your favorite foods.”

I don’t know about you, but the fact that the premise of Joel’s entire program goes against most of the popular advice out there immediately intrigued me! Every diet I’ve ever followed advised against eating after 7 PM. I mean maybe a snack or two but definitely not an entire meal like Joel’s program recommends.

However, Joel goes on to explain that “Most diets are extremely narrow with regard to food choices and variety, and many even limit entire macronutrients altogether over the course of the entire program (think low-carb and low-fat diets). Three months with no carbs? No thanks. Such practices not only are entirely unnecessary but make for a miserable, unsustainable experience.”

This resonated with me so much since I believe that I’ve hit my current plateau due to feeling extremely limited by what I can eat and sometimes over-indulging as a result.

Since this was so contrary to any diet advice that I’ve followed in the past, I thought it would be fun to share my experience with the book and diet over the next month in an effort to finally break my current weight loss plateau and share my (hopefully amazing) results with you guys!

Until then, check out this video all about why he wrote the book:
