For this French Toast Casserole, I decided to use Croissants instead of French Bread (because I’m a sucker for croissants), but you can use any type of bread that you would like.

It’s best that the bread is a least a day old so that your casserole isn’t soggy and still has a little bit of crunch once you bake it.

Cut up the croissants into small cubes and place them in a 9x13in baking sheet.

Next, in a large mixing bowl, combine all of your wet ingredients, salt, and sugars (except for the powdered sugar) and pour the mixture over your croissants.

Then top (generously) with cooked bacon and strawberries.

I want to note that while you can use ‘bacon bits’ for this recipe, it tastes so much better with real bacon!

That’s it! Cover and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours if you’re in a hurry.

Once you’re ready to cook your casserole, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, and once heated, cook uncovered for 45mins.

Croissants tend to get crispy fairly quickly so keep an eye on it while it’s cooking. Most times, even if the top looks a bit brown, it may not be done.

So be sure, to take a toothpick and check that your casserole has cooked all the way through before removing it from the oven.

Once it’s done baking, take your casserole out of the oven and allow it to cool for at least 5 minutes.

Finally, top with maple syrup, powdered sugar, and enjoy!
