With two boys, scrapes and bruises have become a normal part of our day to day routine. From cuts, to scrapes, to burns, and even insect bites, I’ve seen it all. After being a boy mom for 5 years now, I’ve established a pretty solid routine for treating boo boo’s. While having a routine for treating boo boo’s sounds like a lot, it only took a few times for me to have to tackle a boo boo unprepared to learn that a solid routine is absolutely essential.

So if you’re like me and love to be prepared, keep reading to learn my first aid routine for those everyday boo boos that are bound to happen.

1. Relieve The Pain

First things first, no matter how minor the boo boo, you can be sure that your little one will likely cry from the pain and the initial shock of getting hurt. So one of the first steps in my everyday first aid routine is to use my Dermoplast First Aid. It’s safe for ages 2 and up and provides quick pain relief. My boys usually stop crying moments after I’ve sprayed it on their cuts and scrapes.

Dermoplast also kills up to 99% of germs, making the odds of infection extremely low – which is great for my boys since most of their boo boo’s happen outdoors. Speaking of the outdoors, I also keep Dermoplast Pain, Burn and Itch handy for minor burns, bug bites, and even sunburn. It’s truly a must-have in your first aid kit!

2. Cover Up The Wound

After spraying the antibacterial Dermoplast First Aid onto the boo boo, the next step is to cover it up so that it can heal and stay infection-free. While my boys love bandaids, I’ve noticed that after spraying Dermoplast on their smaller cuts and scrapes, they are ready to get right back to playing thanks to the fast pain relief.

3. Lay On The Love

Last but definitely not least is laying on the love! Hugs and kisses are the perfect final step in any first aid routine. No matter how big or small the boo boo’s, my little ones always feel better after a big hug and a few kisses.
