The Millennial Stay-At-Home Mom Blog is officially 3 months old y’all!
It still feels like yesterday when I was contemplating launching this blog. Nevertheless, the journey has been amazing so far.
Here’s a quick recap:
-The 2017 Mompreneur Summit took place at the beginning of November and it was such an AWESOME experience! Missed it? No worries, check out the 6 Biggest Ideas Shared On The Mompreneur Summit!
-I was also chosen as a panelist on HP’s 2017 Millennial Influencers Panel. Check out my unboxing video here.
-I’ve also partnered with a couple of brands this month including my new favorite skincare line, MaeLove Skincare.
-Fellow Millennial Mommy Boss Rochelle Ford-Wilson and I had an amazing #MOMMYBOSS Interview this past week and it was FULL of amazing gems and tips on all things Millennial Mompreneurship. Although the replay is no longer available, be on the look-out for more JUICY interviews from Rochelle and I.
I know it may be weird to share my blog’s progress – especially so early on – but it’s posts like these that encouraged me when I was considering starting my blog.
It’s my hope that these monthly progress reports are encouraging and that they show you that it is possible to launch a successful blog – from scratch.

Now, let’s get into this month’s progress report!
New On The Blog
This month I published EIGHT new posts! Although that’s one less than last month, I’m happy to say that I hit my goal of continuing to post twice a week and I’m going to strive to continue that trend.
My most popular posts this month were:
4 Ways To Teach Your Child Humility
Pinterest Sections: What They Are & How To Use Them
5 Positive Ways To Respond When Your Child Misbehaves
I spoke a bit about it earlier but I also changed the layout of a couple of pages on my blog, and I’ve added a Resource Library.
I have a couple of other blogging related projects in the works as well so be on the look out for that!
Blog Traffic
Before I get into this month’s stats, I want to remind you of where I was last month:
# of Sessions 4,117
# of Users – 2,919
# of Pageviews – 6,404
Honestly, last month’s numbers were a little intimidating. There were times when I was really feeling the pressure of attempting to ‘beat’ last month’s numbers.
Although my goal was to double my traffic – I really was hoping that I could match the previous month considering that it was a huge leap for me.
So how’d I Do
# of Sessions 4,221
# of Users – 3,324
# of Pageviews – 6,284
To my surprise, I was only 120 page views shy of meeting lasts month’s numbers. Definitely not too shabby for a three-month-old Mom Blog.
So the real question is, how??
Well, since I’ve been blogging I’ve noticed one major thing in terms of traffic:
The more often you post, the more traffic you’ll get.
This is especially true for new bloggers like me. I’m sure there are some people that may not agree but for me personally, I always get a spike in traffic when I post something new.
Another thing that I believe contributed to my blog’s traffic this month was being a part of the 2017 Mompreneur Summit and my #MommyBoss Interview.
So far, Pinterest is now my number one referrer for traffic with Facebook in second place and StumbleUpon in third.
Social Media
These first few months of blogging have been all about growth and consistency. Last month’s goal was to double my followers on social media. Here are last month’s numbers:
Facebook – 354 Likes
Instagram – 3472 Followers
Twitter – 1535 Followers
Pinterest 529 Followers
Here are my stats as of 11:59pm on Nov 20th:
Facebook – 487 Likes
Instagram – 4359 Followers
Twitter – 1761 Followers
Pinterest 755 Followers
Needless to say, I haven’t doubled my followers, however, I have been learning which social media strategies and techniques work best for me and I’m excited to implement these strategies in the coming weeks to see how they work for my site.
Email List
My email list has continued to grow at a nice steady pace, so I’m super excited about that!
As of October 20th, I have a total of 331 subbies and I can barely believe it!
I use Convertkit as my email provider and I couldn’t be happier with their service. I absolutely love that I’m able to easily create so many different forms and sequences.
Blogging and don’t have an email list?
Start one right away! There are so many reasons to have an email list that I could dedicate an entire post to it!
However, if you’re interested in starting one, try out Convertkit! I’m almost positive that you’ll love them just as much (if not more) than I do.
Sign up for Convertkit here.
Blog Income
While I know many bloggers share their income reports on posts like these, I’ve opted not to share my exact numbers.
In my second monthly report I talked about why I decided to stop running ads on my site and how I expected a decrease in income because of it.
However, I’ve made a little over of 100 bucks this month and I’m not mad about it. My income for this month was made up of affiliate sales and sponsored posts.
To be honest, I was surprised to have made anything since I wasn’t really focused on making any money this month.
While my ultimate goal is to monetize my blog, it’s more important for me to create a solid foundation (post regular content, grow my email list, etc) before I really get serious about monetizing.
But hey, $100 bucks isn’t too shabby!
Goals For Next Month
Maintain/Increase Blog Traffic
Continue To Post Twice A Week
Gain 300 New Followers On Each Social Media Platform
Gain 50 New Subbies
Final Thoughts
I’m so happy that all my hard work actually seems to be paying off. Although my goals have changed a bit, my focus is still the same: growing and expanding my brand(reach) and continuing to create valuable content for you guys!
If you’re still reading this and considering launching a blog, I say go for it!
I will warn you though, it’s a ton of work and it isn’t for the faint of heart but it is SO worth it.
Trust me!
If I can do it, you can too!
