These Air Fryer Apple Cinnamon Turnovers are a delicious fall treat that kids love.

Now that Fall is here, I’ve enjoyed making (and eating) some of my favorite Fall recipes. With Fall Ball and other extra curricular that our children are currently participating in, it’s been one of the busiest Fall seasons that our family has had so far.

These Air Fryer Apple Cinnamon Turnovers are a delicious fall treat that kids love.

That said, in an effort to make the most of my time, I’ve also been experimenting with ways to create some of our favorite meals and treats in half the time! There’s been a lot of trial and error but with a little consistency and as a result, these Air Fryer Apple Cinnamon Turnovers were born!

Here’s What You Need To Makes These Air Fryer Apple Cinnamon Turnovers:

  • Apples
  • Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Vanilla Extract (optional)
  • Phyllo Sheets (I used Athens Phyllo Dough)
  • Butter
  • Cinnamon Sugar (for topping)

The caramelized apples (grab the recipe here), coupled with the phyllo dough give these turnovers the perfect combination of texture and taste. Not to mention, if you’re a busy mom like me, then you will appreciate that these turnovers only take a few minutes to cook in the air fryer.

While these turnovers aren’t quite as simple as my 5 ingredients or less recipes, it’s definitely a quick, delicious dessert that you can enjoy anytime. Plus these turnovers are sure to be a hit with the kiddos.

These Air Fryer Apple Cinnamon Turnovers are a delicious Fall treat that kids love.

To make caramelized apples, heat a skillet over medium/high heat and add Land O’Lakes butter.
Once butter is melted, add sugar and stir until sugar melts.
Add diced apples, cinnamon, and vanilla extract (optional). Sauté until apples are tender.
Remove cooked apples from heat and set aside.
Unroll partially thawed Athens phyllo sheets and cut them into thirds.
Using two phyllo sheets each, spoon caramelized apples onto the top center of the phyllo sheet.
Fold the phyllo sheet over from corner to corner until you have a triangle shape.
Spray air fryer with nonstick spray and place the turnovers inside.
Spray the top of the turnovers with non-stick spray (or brush with melted butter) and cook in the air fryer at 375 degrees for 4-7mins.
Once the turnovers are golden brown, remove them from the air fryer, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar topping on top.

Let turnovers cool and enjoy!

Ingredients

Caramelized Apples

  • 2 Apples (Peeled & Diced)
  • 3tbsp Butter
  • 3tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tbsp Vanilla Extract (optional)

Turnovers

  • Athens Phyllo Sheets
  • 3tbsp Melted Butter
  • Cinnamon Sugar Topping (optional)

Instructions

      1. To make caramelized apples, heat a skillet over medium/high heat and add butter.
      2. Once butter is melted, add sugar and stir until sugar melts.
      3. Add diced apples, cinnamon, and vanilla extract (optional).
      4. Sauté until apples are tender and remove cooked apples from heat and set aside.
      5. Unroll partially thawed phyllo sheets and cut them into thirds.
      6. Using two phyllo sheets each, spoon caramelized apples onto the top center of the phyllo sheet.
