U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish Egg Rolls
These easy, delicious Catfish Egg Rolls are made with U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish Filets and are brought to you in partnership with The Catfish Institute. All opinions are my own.
Summertime is in full swing, but I have to admit, I’ve needed a break from the traditional ‘summer’ meals. Luckily, here in the South, we enjoy catfish year-round so it was only right that I made it the star of these Catfish Egg Rolls!
Since U.S. Farm Raised catfish are known for their consistently mild, slightly sweet flavor, I knew they would be a great base for this recipe. Not to mention, they are a great source of protein and low in saturated fat! These egg rolls are perfect for an easy lunch or dinner and the leftovers taste just as delicious the next day! I love to enjoy these with rice and veggies but they’re perfectly fine on their own with a yummy dipping sauce.
If you’ve been a long-time reader of the blog, you may be familiar with my Catfish recipes such as my Catfish Jambalaya. That said, I’m proud to announce that this is the fourth recipe that I’ve created in partnership with The Catfish Institute and I may be a bit biased, but I believe that it’s the best one yet!
So without further ado, here is what you need to make these delicious Catfish Egg Rolls made with U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish Filets:
How To Make The Catfish Egg Roll Filling:
Once you have all of your ingredients prepped and ready to go, melt butter in a medium skillet and add in diced bell pepper, diced onion, and minced garlic. Saute until tender (or softened) and then add in catfish and season with salt, cajun seasonings, red pepper flakes and paprika.
Cook for 4-7 minutes or until the catfish is no longer transparent. Next, add in cream cheese and heavy cream and stir continuously until cream cheese has melted. Cook on medium/high heat for an additional 5-7 minutes. Once the mixture is bubbling, Remove the mixture from heat and add it to a bowl heat-safe mixing bowl, add cheddar cheese and stir in until the cheese is melted. Once well combined, set aside.
How To Fill The Egg Rolls:
In a small bowl, combine 1 egg and 1 tbsp of water until well mixed and set aside.
Lay the egg roll wrapper on a flat service diagonally with one of the corners facing you. Brush the perimeter with the egg and water mixture. Add 2 tbsp of the egg roll mixture and wrap tightly, making sure to seal with more of the egg and water mixture.
Airfrying The Catfish Egg Rolls:
Preheat the air fryer to 400°. To pre-heat, simply set your air fryer to 400° and let run for 6-8 minutes. Brush the top of the egg rolls with the rest of the egg and water mixture. Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick spray and place the egg rolls in the air fryer, with the bottom side facing up.
Spray the egg rolls with the non-stick spray and cook for 5 minutes at 400°. Flip the egg rolls, spray the tops again with non-stick spray, and cook for an additional 3 minutes until golden brown.
Using tongs, remove the egg rolls from the air fryer and let rest for at least 10 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy with this homemade remoulade dipping sauce that I used for the catfish tacos. The flaky texture of the catfish complements the creamy filling and crunchy egg rolls excellently resulting in a yummy dinner recipe that is sure to be a hit with the entire family!
There you have it!
